The company was founded in 2007 by Thomas Bindl with the aim to bring top-notch technology on the market that makes online marketing transparent worldwide: Refined Ads. In October 2007, Holtzbrinck Digital took a stake in Refined Labs. The product Refined Ads was presented to the public at the OMD in September 2008. Ever since, it has proven its excellent performance to many customers, mainly in the German market.
Our customer portfolio includes many direct customers such as Sixt, T-Mobile, Jochen Schweizer, Opodo and Immowelt, as well as agencies like metapeople, OMG 4CE, PLAN.NET and blueSummit.

With the best PUE value (Power Usage Efficiency) of 1.21, it is the most energy-saving and environment-friendly computing center in Europe and thus saves more than 66% of energy when compared with an average computing center. All our servers – in Cologne, too – operate on electricity from renewable energy sources.

CARE was founded in the USA in 1945 to fight hunger and desperation in Europe with more than 100 million CARE packages. Today, CARE relies on the experience and resources of a modern and international aid organization. Regardless of political and religious views, and ethnic background, CARE stands up for poor, unprivileged people that are in need.
The SOS Children’s Villages have set themselves the task to help children in need to a better life. In an SOS Children’s Village abandoned and orphaned children grow up in a loving, safe home: in an SOS family, with an SOS mother, along with siblings. Other SOS facilities such as kindergartens, schools, training centers and medical centers are in addition open to needy families living in the vicinity of the SOS Children’s Villages. As an independent, non-governmental and non-denominational children’s charity SOS Children’s Villages are active in 130 countries. Refined Labs is proud to contribute in this.
