We as Refined Labs GmbH take the protection of personal data very seriously and adhere strictly to the rules of data protection laws. Personal identifiable data of third parties, i.e. people who come into contact with Refined Ads but are at the same time not one of our customers, are collected through the use of Refined Ads only as far as necessary for technical reasons. This information will in no case be sold or otherwise transferred to third parties. Only our respective customer who makes use of Refined Ads has access to parts of this data that we collect in his charge.

The following statement provides an overview on how we ensure this protection and what kind of data we collect for what purpose.

Data Processing in Refined Ads

In case our customer uses the Refined Ads Redirector, the following cookies will be stored by us on the computer of the website visitor (you):

  • Session cookie, containing the following contents: Date and a random non back calculatable number (“Hash”);
  • User cookie, containing the following contents: Date and a Hash;
  • Piggyback cookie, containing the following contents: Date and information on the used advertising material (e.g. trafficprovider, keyword, placement, adtext, network type), “our internal ID”.

In case our customer uses the Refined Ads Display-Tracking-Service, the identical cookies as used while redirecting get stored with every impression of advertising material on your computer; furthermore we store the data getting transmitted to us while redirecting in a further cookie.

With each call of the redirector the following data from the website visitor, that is you, gets transmitted to us and is stored by us:

  • Current Timestamp;
  • URL of the target website (“target URL”) and URL of the referring website (“referrer URL”);
  • Contents of the cookies;
  • According to the customer individual setup IP address and port of the web browser;
  • Name, version, language and accept settings of your web browser;
  • Our internal ID.

In case the Refined Ads Revenue-Tracking-Code is integrated by our customer on its website, data gets transmitted from the website visitor (you) to us and is stored by us each time the Revenue-Tracking-Code or the Revenue-Tracking-Pixel gets called. Currently, the following data is transmitted:

  • Current Timestamp;
  • Target URL and referrer URL;
  • Contents of the cookies;
  • According to the customer individual setup IP address and port of the web browser;
  • Name, version, language and accept settings of your web browser;
  • Information that is individually set by the customer in the tacking code or tracking pixel, e.g. lead type, value, …
  • Our internal ID.

All of these data are not related to any specific person and therefore no personal identifiable information. This data will at no time be combined with other data sources that can be matched to a person.

Security of your personal identifiable information

We protect your personal identifiable information from unauthorized access, use or disclosure. We ensure that your personal identifiable information will be in a controlled, secure environment in which unauthorized access or disclosure gets prevented.

Transfer of your data

We do not disclose your personal identifiable data to any third party. Solely our respective customer who uses Refined Ads has access to parts of this data that we collect in his charge. In case we are bound by law or court order we will transfer your data only to authorized state institutions and authorities.

Cookies

Refined Ads uses cookies in order to create statistical transaction data for our customers. It also enables our customers to show their ads only to people who have great interest in their products. So in the end you get more relevant advertising. A cookie opt-out is usually not reducing the amount of advertising you see. To achieve this measurement and modulation random data gets stored in a cookie in your web browser and gets read out again in a subsequent re-contact. This random data does not contain any personal identifiable data and does not allow a conclusion to you as a person or similar. You only identify yourself with the web browser used.

You always have the option to veto against cookies getting set by Refined Ads via the tracking domain “refinedads.com“ for the future. For the technical implementation of this veto a cookie with the name “rfa-opt-out“ gets set from the domain “refinedads.com“ in your web browser. As long as this cookie exists, meaning it is not deleted by you or gets otherwise lost, Refined Ads will no more set a further cookie in your web browser. Please note: A cookie opt-out is only possible for the currently used web browser because of technical reasons. In case you use one or more additional web browsers you need to repeat this cookie opt-out for each of these web browsers separately.
